Engine smoke effects issue

Postby jelly2m8 » Tue Dec 27, 2005 5:53 pm

I have a problem with my engine smoke in FS9. It shows up as purple / violet for all the aircraft.

I have replaced the fx_engsmoke.fx effect and replaced all files with smoke in the effects/texture and main texture folders ( they showed as the same one I replaced ) with the ones from the install discs with no change.

I check and played with the monitor settings with no success either.

I do have an engine effect named fx_eng_exhaust_gry.fx that must have came with an add-on aircraft, but I can't imagine that affecting it due to the file name.

Any idea's what's up?

Are you running the sim in 16 or 32 bit colors? I've played around in 16 bit and noticed exhaust colors looked a little odd

That was it!  I can't believe I failed to notice that little detail.

My visuals always have looked great, so I didn't even imagine it wasn't on 32 bit.

Many thanks Esselbach!
