Any ideas?

Does anybody out there have any good ideas for freeware GA aircraft?  I have been flying the heavy metal and fast jets a lot lately and i would like a nice change to low and slow flying for once.
I recently downloaded the Maule and I love it!

I can recommend the DH Tiger Moth by Warwick Carter, available right here on SimV: it handles beautifully and looks good as well!

Real airplanes have open cockpits and two wings...

This Aviat Husky is my personal favourite at the moment. It's what I 'traded' my Maule in for.

Don't they have five?
Two at front, two at the back and one that is a bit sticky up at the back, unless it is a "V" tail, then it is six ;D

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

I have been having a lot of fun flying various STOL aircraft lately, pulling the power back to simulate an engine failure and seeing where I could possibly set it down in places like the Grand Canyon in Arizona. A particular favorite lately, with amazing short-field performance, is Anton Nikolaev's ANTONOV AN-14 (an14ussr.zip).  You won't believe where you can land this thing, and you'll be even more amazed when you get back out! OK, so it's not a GA airplane, but maybe with a civilian repaint....

If you want something bigger and faster, yet still easy to fly and good for bush, Otter NG by Eugene Heyart.  Its really everything you could ever need: great STOL characteristics, one engine, flies at 10000ft at 220KIAS (cruise), easy on frames, and it flies like a dream.

The DC6BUAL is FREE from Classic Airliners It's about the most-complex FREEware plane out there. When you can start this plane from Cold & dark you can consider yourself a pilot.
