Automatic reverse thrust?

Is it possible to set for reverse thrust the same as the auto brake? In other words ,throttles at idle and main wheels hit the runway on landing, without using F2.

probobly not but the problem with that is when you taxi your reverse thrusters activate all the time if its a problem to reach for the keybord witch some time it is on hetick flights try to make a key on yur joy stickprogrmed the same as f2 maby that would help

I have the saitek x36F and on the throttle there is a mouse button. I use this on combat simms for the bail out. As there is no bailout in FS, this is handy as my hand is on the throttle to land.

Sorry, there is no such thing as auto reverse thrust.  F2 (or another mapped key) is the only way to activate it.

Well, there is, but only on certain planes.  Eugene Heyarts albatross and Otter NG have a thing called brake help:  When you have it activitated, it reverses the engine and extends spoilers as brakes are applied until you stop

In the real world, it is possible on the 737 (NG) to select reverse thrust in the air as long as the rad alt senses you below 10 feet or 3 meters and in landing config. It is not recommended, but possible. Is it possible to setup FS9 to do this (I have no clue about programming)? It would give alb469 some sort of answer to his question.

Yes it is possible. When landing the MD-11 by Alain Capt
( www.acsoft.ch) the thrust will reverse automatically at 60knots, providing the autobrakes were activated prior to landing.  This aurcraft, is one of the best , realistic  airliner. You fly it from begining to end., with pushback, sound crews, music, Wx radar. TCAS. Following a flight plan, it will anticipate turns at waypoints. It does fantastically in auto ILS landing, Links with a payoad calculator, got various bells and whistles too.  You cab even dim to cockpit light for a better panel viewing>

Mmm I don't know about that.  60 kts is the ballpark speed at which you idle the thrust, reverse thrust is supposed to be activated either once you touch down or after the nose wheel comes down, depending on the plane.

I sometimes use reverse thrust on turboprops when on a difficult approach to a short field while bush flying.  I know that at St Barthelemy in the Netherlands Antilles pilots apply reverse thrust on final because its a dive bomb approach to a short runway.

60 Knots is way to late for reverse thrust. Below about 90 knots thrust reverse becomes ineffective. At about 60 knots you will start to re-ingest exhaust gases, not to mention anything that is laying about, gravel, stones, sand or as I had to clear out a few weeks ago, a mouse buzzard (ID established from about three feathers, the rest, I am sure you get the picture)

Said Md11 auto reverses (I don't really like it, the reversers are MINE to apply ) from touch-down up to 60 knots, where they automatically idle.
