I have gotten bored with flight sims before (CFS) ;D  but FS2004 has been great fun   i do miss the closeness of the CFS squad i was in  sometimes 2k4 isent the same and unfortunatly i dont get nervous on FS landings  it just doesent have the same thrill as in CFS where if u hit someone ur both out with a fireball   even with crashback  just not the same   but i still find it an amasing simulator

For me, it's the other way around. I don't know about you, but flight simulators are the one type of program that i've never grown tired of.

I've got many other games that I occasionally play, but after a while, they all get old.

Here's a few of my own suggestions to keep FS exciting.

Find what type of flying you like most and add your own challenges.

Explore new places.

Download new aircraft, scenery, ect to spice FS up

Use RW weather. Always makes for an interesting flight when weather turns sour

One thing I got tired of was turning the autopilot on, coupling it to the GPS, and waiting around while watching the aircraft navigate on it's own. My solution was to simply stop using the GPS, and navigate using nav radios, and charts. Being more involved is more exciting for me

You could also join a VA of some sort

There are many ways to make it fun and exciting, but that's the beauty of it. You make it what you want ;)

There are 2 "games" (I use the term loosely ;))  I can't seem to get tired of : Fs2004 and Battlefield 1942.
It depends on my mood.  If I feel the urge to kill people, I play battlefield.  But sometimes I just want to fly a nice airliner (especially Airbus :P) and then I use FS.

Hmmm... bored? ???

Not really, like someone else already said I too go through phases when I fly less than average, but I think this is only normal.

Bored I got yes, but of other kind of games, the games that stem from DOOM and QUAKE that for a while in the 90' held my attention away from FS. But then, yes, I got bored of them and returned to soar the simulated skies.

Nowadays the only "games" (if they can be defined thus) I have installed on my PC are FS9, for when I feel domestic and peaceful, and Crimson Skies (that I find a whole lot more enjoyable than the various CFS's) for when I want to find myself behind a flying machinegun. ;D

Far from me to ever be bored of FS and/or the aviation world. ;)

Every now and then, I'll fire up a combat flight sim, or even a FPS, to get my fix of mayhem. But I still love FS9, because to me, "just flying" isn't boring... might be some dull moments droning along from A to B, but always rewarding to complete a flight that's gone according to plan.

And, if you really are bored, get strike fighters.

There is just too many things you can do in FS, Flying my F-14 with my buddies in other F-14s escorting 747s is just way too fun, try online play, dogfights and ecorts are really fun with other people.

Have you sampled "FS Flight Ventures" from Abacus publishing? Not free, but endlessly fascinating; a series of adventurous missions (on which you can select your own aircraft). They're at www.abacuspub.com....
