First off, there are a couple of things wrong with your post, here.

1. Grown out of video games?  You replaced FS with a video game.

2. IMHO, FS is not a game, it is a simulator.

To answer your question: no.  Haven't gotten bored, won't get bored for awhile.  With a little technical knowledge and a bit of artistry, I can keep enjoying FS even if I lose the net.  No problems there . . .

I've been on and off with FS before, but never really got bored of it. And I don't think anyone grows out of games. A 'video game' isn't just for 10 year olds.

Just as my interest seems to be drifting, I descover something new (more often than not from reading things in this forum) which renews my interest.
I might try flying different types of aircraft or fly in a different part of the world.
I'm now trying to add, and develope scenery in my local area.

It never ends.

Oh, and think "Simulator" and not "Game".

I used to think MS flight simulator was interesting, but can be rather boring.  Lets face it, theres other sims where you can actually blow the tail pipe out of a mig in front of you to smitherines while theres SA-13 sam sites chasing you with heat seakers across Russia whereas in MSFS... you just fly...

But since FS2004, the addon community as well as the multiplayer community has kept me on the edge of my seat and proved me wrong.  I fly into different areas using live online ATC, and not only that, places like wspilots offer me a hop list full of challenging bush hops where each landing can be a swetty palmed, heart racing, blurried eyed approach.  The challenge simply makes it fun.  My philosophy is this, in FS, you have the whole world in front of you, but it is up to you to keep yourself from being bored and seek your own adventure  ;D
Cheers,
RB

I love flying and would love to have more time. Unfortunately I don't have time to fly and it is severely restricted to holidays (which because I am homeschooled and don't take much holiday doesn't amount to much).
I just wish I could fly more.
You obviously couldn't have been so seriously interested if you just replace FS with another "game".

I wouldn't say bored, I just go through phases where I get the urge to fly FS less than usual. I do have other hobbies and a little thing I like to call a "social life". ;)

F-15 Eagle

You are an F-15. Your record in combat is spotless; you've never been defeated. You possess good looks, but are not flashy about it. You prefer to let your reputation do the talking

I remember a "social life". I think it was a Tuesday back in the 70's.

aww quit complainin, if ya dont like the just flyin, get Combat Flight Simulator 2. much better than cfs1 or 3. IL2 took a lot of the pilots from cfs2, we need fresh blood
i enjoy long walks on the beach, yummie thai food, and obliterating my enemy's aircraft around them with a hail of bullets from 12 .50s. and/or a 75mm cannon.

I only have a social life in the summer, when a friend comes home for summer break. My other hobby is real flying 8)

I'm dumbfounded. How could you possibly get bored with FS? :o

This FS hobby is a fascinating and apparently therapeutic pastime.

I've had various FS versions for at least ten years but really didn't get hooked or spend much time at it until I blundered in to discovering that one could download a whole candy store of aircraft.... for free!  Before that it did get boring at times.

Kinda like being eight years old again and dreaming of being given a blank check and a ride (lift for you Brits) to my favorite model airplane hobby store.  That was a long time ago.  In the 50's.

Trouble is that lately my most often performed "flight" is to fire up some warbird with a big piston engine that roars, take off and climb to a few thousand feet then roar back and visciously "buzz" the tower over and over and over....looping and rolling with sadistic glee.  Breaking the rules in other words.

Should I seek psycological help?  Do I have some deep unresolved confilct with authority?
