Don't think you can actually replace the screen with a vid as the actual links to the textures are in the .mdl file.



(specially considering the resource hog that would be) :

in theory yes...
maybe there's a way to program a certain gauge file that could link to a module that would allow FS to do such a thing...
a problem would be that gauges displayed on the DVC refresh much slower than on 2d panel about 5-7 FPS, which is very slow for a movie.....
more trouble than it's worth IMHO(specially considering the resource hog that would be) :

This makes me wonder what flight crews actually do for most of the time, especially when flying these long-haul routes. Everything seems to be automatic these days but I sincerely hope they don't spend the flight watching videos on their laptops.




No, don't be silly- they have little portable DVD players!
You do have to wonder what they do- eventually you might run out of things to say to each other, unless you know a lot of jokes. Crossword puzzles, maybe? Or needlepoint?
