Virtual cabins?

Postby simonmd » Tue Nov 22, 2005 10:25 am

Another stupid question from me. Some AC have virtual cabins, Meljet for example, how do I enter it?

Heya Simon,

Woozy King is correct in that you can get a third-party program to "move about the cabin."  Just so that you know the default FS 2004 will also allow you to change your eyepoint view to a limited extent.

Switch your view to the Virtual Cockpit view.  Press the following key combinations:

Ctrl + Enter = moves your viewpoint back (aft)
Ctrl + Backspace = moves your viewpoint forward
Shift + Backspace = moves your viewpoint down
Ctrl + Shift + Backspace = moves your viewpoint left
Ctrl + Shift + Enter = moves your viewpoint right
Shift + Enter = moves your viewpoint up
Happy Flying -- And may your main wheels always touch down first!

While I understand this line is about V/Cs, I wonder if some one can help with a cockpit view problem? ???

Okay - here goes, I have had to reinstall FS9 on my PC and since then the I/P in the cockpit view has been out of proprortion with the background e.g. out the window is good, the gauges are twice as big as they need to be.
I've tried draging to size, changing the resolution but nada the panel its self is just as big as ever.
HELP!!!

Are you talking about the VC (Virtual Cockpit) or the 2d normal one? If it's the VC, press - on the keyboard and zoom out to the required level.

Ahh, capt, I had this problem and no one ever understood what I meant when I asked for help with it.  But rest assured, I know exactly what you mean ;)

The fix? New (or old) video drivers.  That should get it patched up right quick. :)

Thank you VERY MUCH, that was the cure-all for the headache.

Sometimes it takes a younger set of eyes to see a solution.
