Glad we could help, Friday.

With the panel issue: open the panel.cfg and scroll to the bottom. Last-but-one section is:

[Default View]
X=0
Y=0
SIZE_X=8192
SIZE_Y=3500

If you increase the SIZE_Y value by 400 to 500 to around 3900-4000, then the image should fit the panel. Voila.

Regarding the 737 EXP expansion pack: some of it has now been superseded, so you don't need the fx files that are in there - they are for an older version of the engine exhaust system. If you've installed v3 (the latest version), then you already have what you need. The FD has been recently updated, so the only things that haven't changed in the pack are the repaints.

Now you're good to go.

This is driving me crazy.
The SIZE_Y alteration you suggested seems to have no effect.
The problem, I found, only happens with the GOL livery aircraft!!!!
The others (Continental and Copa from the 1.2 package, and an Easyjet repaint) don't have the problem!

*STUPID QUESTION TIME*
If an aircraft didn't roll on the runway, wouldn't it just stay still? Or do you mean 'rolling' of a different kind, and if so, what?
Cheers ;)

OK, I'll rewrite my sentence.
"When I was rolling on the runway, I noticed that the plane was a little nervous..."  ;)

I don't know if I will be able to fix the cockpit view problem. If I will have to resize the external view manually every time, where should i drag it to, to gain a correct perspective of the outside world? Do I drag it all the way to the bottom line of the screen, or just below the bottom corner of the aircraft windshield, or somewhere in between? If I drag it to the bottom of the screen the point of view gets lowered a great deal and I can see almost nothing in front of the aircraft.

If I pause the simulation and choose "Instant replay" (to see my aircraft attitude during takeoff, for instance), when i resume the simulation the aircraft goes completely crazy (try it and see), putting the nose down in a mad dive... I nearly crashed.
Sadly, since no one seems to have the same issues as me or at least no one seems to have hints to give me, I will have to uninstall Bjorn's panel and revert to the less good looking but mostly problem-free default one.
I will keep an eye on this topic though, in case someone can figure out what the source of all these problems is.
Maybe it's time to open the wallet for a payware solution.  ;D

Friday,

Don't panic - I think I can help you. I have to take the rap for this - I had exactly the same problem in the 737 EXP after I updated the FD, and I know what the issue is - it's in the electrical section of the aircraft.cfg. It should look like this:

[electrical]
//BusType, MaxAmpLoad, MinVoltage       BusTypes:0=MainBus,1=AvionicsBus,2=BatteryBus,3=HotBatteryBus,4-7=Generator/AlternatorBus(1-4)
//Amended to extend battery life at startup
flap_motor= 0, 1 , 1
gear_motor     = 4, 1 , 1
light_wing    = 0, 1 , 1
light_logo  = 0, 1 , 1
autopilot     = 0, 5 , 1
avionics_bus  = 0, 5,  1
avionics      = 1, 5 , 1
pitot_heat=   0, 2 , 1
additional_system  = 2, 1,  1
marker_beacon = 1, 1 , 1
gear_warning  = 0, 1 , 1
fuel_pump     = 0, 1 , 1
starter1      = 0, 1, 1
light_nav     = 0, 1 , 1
light_beacon  = 0, 1 , 1
light_landing = 0, 1 , 1
light_taxi    = 0, 1 , 1
light_strobe  = 0, 1 , 1
light_panel   = 0, 1 , 1

So copy and paste this section over the old one - this will fix the problem, I think. The problem? A typo - I had typed a '4' instead of a '0' in the 'autopilot =' line.

Apologies.

:( ;)

Thanks for replying.
I will try this modification; but I have checked my [electrical] section against the one you posted, and the one line differing is not the "autopilot=" one but the "avionics_bus=" one, which in my version reads "4, 5,  1" instead of "0, 5, 1".
Let's hope this, too, was a typo!  ;D
I know you're also investigating the window size problem; while we're at it, I also noticed another minor issue. I installed the "engine exhaust system v3 plus", adding the requested lines both to "aircraft.cfg" and to "panel.cfg". I noticed that for some reason the taxi lights and the smoke effects are mutually exclusive. Which means that the taxi lights switch themselves off after one second. If I comment out the exhaust gauges from panel.cfg, the taxi lights come back in working order.  ???

Thanks for the fixes, Martyn.

Friday, at which resolution do you run your FS? I run it at 1280*960 and I have no problems with the panel. Ifg you're running it at 1280*1024, try lowering the res to mine.
The panel was designed for 1280*960, so it works perfectly for me.

My resolution is set to 1280x1024.
1280x960 is not available to me: from the aspect ratio you indicate, I assume you have a widescreen display. A laptop perhaps?
Anyway: after uninstalling your panel (at least I hope I uninstalled it correctly: you never know with all those manual operations that are required) and going back to the original 737 Experience 1.2 panel, the problem has not gone away. With certain liveries, the external window has to be resized manually; with certain others, not. I just can't understand this.
For Martyn: your little fix solved the "avionics off" problem with the engines out. As soon as I can, I'll test it against the "AP off when loading a flight" and the "crazy airplane after instant replay" problems.

I typed 'autopilot' when my brain said 'avionics bus' ... duh. Anyway, you fixed the right one. I'll post the updated cfg.

EES v3 - one of the switches used by the system is indeed the taxi lights. The easiest way around this is to renumber any other lights that use switch 6 (the taxi light switch) over to 5, so that the taxi lights come on with the landing lights. There is another way, but it would mean re-programming the XML gauge.

Heretic - I also have your panel running at 1280/960 and have no problems with it.

Interestingly, I just re-sized  my display to 1280/1024, and it still displayed OK. Also, I can't reproduce the nose-dive effect after instant replay....

Nope. 1280*1024 is an "untrue" resolution since it's not 4:3. 1280*960 on the other hand is.

Btw: My monitor is a 19" CRT.

Bjorn: My display is a 17" TFT; it only allows for 1280x1024 and below. But I don't think that the window size issue is related to the resolution (Martyn has tried my settings and can't reproduce the problem). It seems to be somehow related to the liveries... I know it sounds silly, but I start a flight with, say, the Continental livery and all is OK; I start the same flight with the FedEx one and I find the window has been resized.  ???
Martyn: may the nose dive problem have been related to the (now eliminated) aircraft.cfg typo?
