River for an airport?

At 6N7 (airfield icao code)(In new york somewhere) theres no runway but instead its in the middle of a river  :o

Does everyones sim have it like this (one of the mistakes ms made) or is it just me?

It's called a seaport, and it's made for seaplanes?!

umm  possible its a sea port   but i doubt it  ;)  well  all planes have air in the wheels  so therefore they may float in the river?

There was a list of over 100 water runways in FS2002 Help. I can't find it in FS9 but the runways are still there. I suspect this is one of them.

6N7 is New York Skyports Inc. Rwy NW 10,000 x 1,000 water. It should tell on your Map view whether a runway is water or not.

Also in the gps it should show up as a little anchor instead of the typicaly symbols you see for land runways..

I think Juneau has a water runway next to its main one.  Check it out.

It's a shame they apparently forgot to list the water runways in FS9. I found this shot of the list in FS2002 Help. I didn't count them all & these are just the first ones on the list. Must be several hundred.



Most seem to be in Alaska & Florida but there's one just off Manhattan named Evers where I test all my water planes in FS2002 & FS9.

There are at least two of these sea-ports in my San Francisco FS Sim neck of the woods... ...!
Commodore Centre: 22CA, upstream of Golden Gate bridge in Marin County.
Also, Lost Isle: Q87, located on the Sacramento River, upstream of Concord Buchanan.

Beware tho'....
If you select one of these ports from the drop-down menu with your wheeled Cessna 172 you will promptly be dumped into deep water, and therefore sink without trace... ...!
Make sure you have some floats attached to the underside of your trusty aircraft... ...!
