Should I hang it up?

Postby cavity » Fri Oct 28, 2005 4:27 pm

Well, after several reinstalls and not much success in preventing crashes, Im debating on putting the yoke away until the next version or a new computer.   I cant seem to figure out what  the problem is.  A fresh reinstall and update, a new ntdll file that was causing the majority of problems, and now terrain.dll errors.  I have exhausted all the routes that I know of and those that others have suggested. Im not willing to reinstall the operating system, that is where Ill call it quits before losing my mind.  It just sucks when you enjoy something so much and boom, crash to desktop after two hours of flying.  Ill have to petition MS to get a move on so Ill have something to do.  Todd

Just a shot in the dark but do you defrag your HD periodically?

Do you have a Registry cleaner that gets rid of clutter there?

You don't mention if these crashes are a recent phenomenon or you've never been able to run FS9 ??

If you've never been able to run it, it's likely you have a problem with a hardware driver. The first place I'd look is video driver. Then I'd check out others, especially buss controllers.

Hate to see you missing out on a chance to get "bored" with FS9 (grin)

All I can say is, if you're truly obsessed with FS, you'll find a way to fix your computer ;D
