No ground controls..

Postby Andy2509 » Sat Nov 19, 2005 11:24 am

Hey guys. Just got 2004 today. I have a major problem though. I have no ground controls.... which is kind of nesseceary.. Haha but yea, I had the problem in FS2002, and all i needed to do to clear it up was to stick in a fresh install of it, and it was gone. I tried reinstalling 2004 but that did nothing. I have controls in the air, but not on the ground...meaning i cant taxi. If anyone could help me out i would surely appreciate it. Email or whatever would be fine. Thanks alot.

ANDY clear things up a bit for us ???
It makes no sense that you have controls in the air but not on the ground.
What exactly is the problem you are having ? Is it with default aircraft or a addon? Are the engines on or off?
I could go on & on here but I think you get the drift.
Try to be more specific here . You are a tad vague. ::)

Ive got no rudder control... Meaning when the aircraft is on the ground, i can not do anything but apply throttle and go straight. Once i get to takeoff speed, i can take off, but i cant turn on the ground. I can in the air though. I know it makes no sense... thats why im confused right now. Its with the defualt aircraft, and ive tried various ones.

Can your control the rudder in air? Do you use a twist rudder joystick? Do you use rudder pedals? Do you use keyboard?

WE NEED INFORMATION..

With the amount of information I have now, I can only advise you to check that "Autorudder" is disabled. You'll find that in the Realsim Settings.

Just to add. My set up has autorudder enabled and I steer on the ground by simply moving the joystick left or right whilst I taxi. Another way to do it is to use the rudder manualy on the keyboard. Make sure thet 'num lock' is off and use the '0' and 'Enter' keys for left/right rudder and nose wheel movements.

Again though, more info needed, all AC or just some? There are some AC that won't steer like this, Ford Trimotor for one and need to use left/right braking or different engine thrust to make them turn.

Yea i knew that.. i just didnt think about checking autorudder. It was on all aircraft. And i use the yoke also to steer while i taxi, i dont feel like paying a hundred or so for some rudder pedals.

Got an old joystick laying around?  Here's my alternative to expensive pedals.    :)
