Help! I've lost all my aircraft!

Postby Phiz » Wed Nov 16, 2005 7:10 am

I must have done something unbelievably stupid, but my aircraft directory has vanished from the fs9 folder.  If I run Search and type 'aircraft,' it finds the folder under C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games, and when I click it, all the aircraft are there. But how do I get the folder safely back into fs9? The only options seem to be Edit/copy or Edit/move. I'm desperate, and help would be much appreciated.

Can't you go one step back in the mapstructure after doeing the search? Then drag that file back into your FS9 directory... You've probably moved your entire aircraftfile to another spot...

Above your search-results there is a line that states the name of a file and its location as a link. Use that to pinpoint the location of the files....

If the Aircraft folder has been accidentally moved, right-click (right mouse button) on it & select Cut from the drop-down menu. Then navigate to the main FS9 directory folder, right-click on an open space in the folder & select Paste.

Thanks, gentlemen, one and all. Your comments go into my bulging Treasured Tips folder. As it turned out, in my panic I'd forgotten XP's Restore facility, and to my huge relief, switching to the previous day's restore point did the trick. I shall light a candle to Bill Gates...
