FS2004 clock wrong

Postby FS_Pilot » Mon Nov 14, 2005 2:54 am

I am having a problem with the FS2004 clock. i am on UTC + 10 time zone but the FS2004 clock is only showing UTC + 9. is there a way of correcting this problem. I have checked my computer setttings but they are all correct but i still cannot get it to show properly.

I suppose you have checked the time on the clocks in the create a flight area?..(Selected Time and Season)...I find these get out of sync. especially after a daylight saving adjustment which we have just had..........commoner

...mmm...I have just checked my set up and also found that mine was also wrong by one hour

I believe that is is because my Default flight was saved before the daylight saving came in last week and causing the error........

.....Remake your default flight with the correct times and it will probably be ok...Mine did ...commoner ;)

Commoner, i went in and did as you suggested no difference. if you go into FS9 and to the taskbar then time asnd season and compare Local with GMT there is a +9 hour difference. The computer clock is set to +10 hour difference that leaves a 1 hour difference. i have tried everything i can think of and no good. Thanks for the assist.

hmmm...Excuse me for appearing thick and please allow for me being an old guy but could you just explain ...UTC.....?

I thought one had to set the PC clock to one of the time zones in the Clock Properties......my sight isn't what it was either but I don't see that as an option on the list...can't you just choose a zone that suits where you live from that list?..I see a couple of Australian city ones with plus 10 there.........sorry...commoner. ???

UTC = Universial Time Cordinates Or to X military ZULU time
THIS IS NOT 24 HOUR TIME.

Commoner, that is what i  am saying i have the computer is set to +10 in the time properties so why is FS9 only +9 in it's time & season settings. They should be the same. This is what iam trying to figure out WHY there should be a difference, they should be the same.

Well what can I say........Hagar mentions a bug and a quick Google seems to point to one but I couldn't quite pin it down.......I live in the UK so maybe that's why mine seems ok..no + or - to contend with.........

May be you could try creating a flight starting within the zone your clock is set to (or have you already done that)..........see if that changes owt.

Sorry to be of so little help but, from the replies you got neither does anyone else seem to know what is happening.

I don't know if Australia has daylight saving time or not but if this is the case I imagine it's summer time there now. Maybe FS doesn't take account of it.

...Good thinking there Hagar..........first Google on that one comes up with a very interesting item.....

"Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory do not observe daylight saving.".........

  mmmm...the plot thickens maybe.......... ;D ;D

Yes we are on daylight saving at the moment and my computer system clock automaticly went forward 1 hour and so did FS9 but there is still a gap of 1 hour. System clock is now GMT+11 FS9 clock GMT+10. When there is no daylight saving the system clock is GMT+10 and the FS9 clock is GMT+9. The 1 hour gap still remains. I have sent an email to Microsoft about it but still no reply.
