What would make it the best sim ever...

Postby Oz » Mon Mar 10, 2003 3:02 pm

Its too late to give MS any ideas on ACOF, but these things would really make FS better than it already is.

-Detailed grass that moves with the wind and when helos are landing.
-More realistic oceans, lakes, rivers, etc. that spawn tall waves.
-Birds flying around airports and cities.
-Automobiles traveling around the cities.
-More realistic terminals with cargo vehicles and ramp crews.
-Airport Towers with ATC controllers in them.
-The ability for hurricanes and tornadoes to appear

And some other stuff...
If you got any more ideas, go ahead and post them--just for fun.

they might very well include some of thoose things, especially any of the weather related ones. after reading microsoft's press releases, it sounds like weather is going to be the major priority fior them in this sim

I'm sure these would require a bit more processor power

Why, every one of those items/features on Oz's list can now be done with today's software. All you need is a copy of 3dstudio Max ($3,000) a few plugins ($700 to $1200 depending on which ones you get for sea waves) and a very fast computer that will allow you to render a frame every 90 minutes.

What would really be cool is if someone would develop the technology so that the video out signal from the flight sim could be plugged into these mega sized plasma screens. ;)

1. When crash-landing on the belly of a cessna, there should be visual damage such as a bent or warped metal of a bend wing.

2. I hope they added the see-through water we demanded (top layer transparent, bottom layer solid). It be phat.

3. lights (aircraft and other such lights) that reflect off of aircraft's surface.

4. No missing polygons in DVC when we pan and move around in the interior.

M$ has obviously learn its lesson from the release of CFS3. I heard that it is now being made to work on as much computers as possible (FSCOF) and it is not that demanding in terms of system requirements.

The new features that are added to FSCOF makes it abvious that M$ has been reading our forums VERY carefully. For example: the number of vintage aircraft, the improved ATC and weather, and better graphics.

But, such good sims don't come cheap (like splinter cell and ghost recon). About $54.00 I think. But I don't care about that. My family is somewhere close to rich and they don't care about the price of the new sim.

Anyways, FSCOF will abviously be the best sim out there until the next release in the simulator franchise.

I think a more interactive experience would be awesome-just imagine having passengers and a probabilty a.i. that could randomly create scenerio's from heart attack to hijack. Also a twilight zone probability a.i. could be fun
There is a time ye must stand-let it be, for it is life, and when you dream at night you may fly as a bird and by day fly high bove the clouds on wings of science

Maybe take a leaf out of Train Sims book and change the Dynamic Vertual cockpit to Dynamic Vertual aircraft.
Tired of watching the autopilot? go sit in 1st class and drink champers ;D

The ability to E-Mail or telephone my wife and explain to her why I spend so much time staring at a screen and making infinitesimal movements on my joystick.

The ability to give me intravenous nutrition during those long haul flights.

The ability to roll and light my cigarettes for me during the final approach in the B747-400.

A hologram projecter that would allow a simulated me to go to work whilst I stay home and sleep off the effects of "just another 5 minutes" until 3.00AM.

Direct payments in my bank account whenever I fly a four engined heavy so that I can earn the same as a real pilot.

An attractive hostess to give um, er, refreshments during the boring bits.

Seriously:

Some sort of evaluation system that gives you feedback on your flying technique.  My brother has train simulator and everytime you make an error or jolt the passengers it logs it and tells you at the end.  It would be useful if the program told you if your landings were too heavy etc.

I think Flight sims will only really come alive when we have the ability to run them on several screens simultaneously to give all round vision.

Will ;D

No more vintage planes!! Here's a list of aircrafts i would like to see in fs 2006:

AIRBUS
A318
A319
A320
A321
A330
A340
A380

BOEING
757
767
777-200
777-200ER
777-300
777-300ER
777-200LR

I don't they will put any airbus aircraft in it because airbus is european based and boeing is in the US .But still i would like to see those.

Now to SCENERIES
-3d trees that moves when wind blows
-birds would be nice
-more realistic water and ground texture
-after rain falls, wet surface on the runways and taxiways would be nice
-jet blast on whet surfaces
-working wipers
-3d passengers
-ground animation E.g. catering truck>fuel truck>ramp tractor>wing walker>luggage dolly etc.

And so on :)
