Flight Plan

I was wondering how to open a flight plan on any normal flight like in a cessna 182. i am trying to open it and i cant get it to work. i hear the AI planes on the radio saying like IFR to Hartford but i cant get that to work

Please Help! ???

When you make the plan are you setting it to IFR? Or just leaving it as VFR?

Also don't push back. Start the airplane and turn on your avionics then call ATC for clearance. This is the mistake I made when I first tried to fly an IFR plan in FS2002. If you move at all you cancel the flight. Start the airplane, get IFR clearance and then ask for permission to taxi before moving an inch.
