Small TNCM Prob...

Postby Hai Perso Coyone? » Sat Nov 12, 2005 11:42 am

I have the V1.2 of that TNCM scenery which has those hotels and all...with the people macros on the beach and all...the one by Delblond Christian...the thing is...I haven't gone to that airport ever snice I got the scenery....my FPS dip to about 6FPS....whereas if I look at the ocean...a good 65-70FPS....this is weird...6FPS is unmanageable...I want to fly those famous low-approches into TNCM...but the sim is just too choppy....I have followed all instructions that came in the file...but none describe the FPS dip....See my specs below...and my FS is maxed out...which reminds me...turning everything down to just plain high...or medium...or whatever...doesn't solve the problem...Anyone have any ideas as to what could happen? Oh and my global texture size thing is set to Utlra High...and I have a ton of payware Airport scenery which don't have this effect (ex. Fly Tampa series)...I don't know what's wrong....
Thanks in advance for any help...
Cheers all,
Ashar

Funny. For one more week, my computer is crap, but when I landed there on a long haul PMDG 747 flight from Amsterdam last week I still managed a flyable 15 frames.

Hopefully that'll get better next week.

Sorry Ashar, cant see how to help you on this one...

Woozy,

I seem to remember a thread talking about that issue somewhere on the first version ... and somthing about a "fix" version having been released.  I can't remember anything about it beyond that.  And that could be wrong too.

But maybe it is a "tip" top see if the version you have is the latest one and try changing it if it isn't.

Sorry I can't be more help.  Maybe someone else remembers more.

best,

I have it installed and to help you tried a fly around. Be it with the Legacy (a known graphic resouce hog) or with the newly bought PMDG747 I never had serious problems of fps.

Yes, when the point of view moves toward the terminal I too have a slowing, but never under 15~16 fps. And my pc is not all that much, a AthlonXP 2600 with a Gefo Fx5700le.

I don't really know what to suggest.
