check out my 737-400 textures in the new jets area

Postby tsakalli » Sun Nov 06, 2005 8:18 pm

hi, I am a long time member of this place but I have been away for a while, and since I'm back I'd like to share some textures with you all so please check them out here
http://www.simviation.com/fs2004jets137.htm

look for files from dimitri zervoudis

they are pretty high in detail, well as much as possible starting off from the original texures of the default 737.

Let me know what you think..

Also I am looking forward on making more textures, but am I somewhat wasting my time on this plane?

I dont ever fly the deafualt one, infact i deleted it. Good looking textures though,if your looking to repaint 737s maybe the pmdg 737 would be a better alternative

Very nice textures. Though I don't use the defaults (even with the corrected flight dynamics they're really not that much) and only keep them for AI purposes, you've made a friend of mine happy with the fictional Alitalia livery, I relay here his thanks to you. :)

Hi there. Now that you've 'cut your teeth' forget about default aircraft. Totally. They are a complete waste of time. Look for high quality high detail models as mentioned by the other posters because although people complain about low FR, long loading times and all, that's what they want and end up downloading.

From the look of your work you'll do well. Keep at it - but choose better aircraft  ;)

Excellent repaints, however, like most people I never use the default 737. PLEASE could you direct you talent to Moach's 737. If you did you will have a big hit on your hands.

Keep up the good work :D 8)

thanx for the replies means alot, it's nice to know the work is apreciated.  Sounds like Moaches 737 is the one. I've given the textures a look and they definately have more potential than the default 737. I already started on a new repaint for it, and I'm going to try to give it  a more aged textures cause for some reason a few subtle details that makes a plane more believable are not there IMO, and I really like that about the default planes that came with fs2004 to some extend

what is everyone's opinion on clean vs weatherd textures?

also if anyone wishes to name a livery they'd like to see first I'm open to suggestions.

I would like to see a weatherd texture, but more in the direction of dirty. I work 737's and there is a real difference between weathered and dirty. Dirty is acceptable, the aircraft can be washed. Weathered from a pax point of view equals flying junk that is not maintained properly.

As for a livery, small clue...........Air Berlin please.

so which one is the new color theme for air berlin the red theme or the blue theme? I am not familiar with either and I don't know if one is a succesor of the other or simply a special repaint of the livery?

I would do the blue theme since it's more challenging and appealing IMO but honestly I'd rather do the correct color theme of the livery.

The blue colour scheme was a promo from Boeing. It is only on one aircraft, Bravo November. It was done in the new Dream Liner colours for AirBerlin to show what could be. Boeing where hoping that AirBerlin would buy more aircraft. However Air Bus made a better offer!!
The red colour scheme is what AirBerlin are known for and staying with.

www.airberlin.com will give you an idea.

If you really are going to repaint the Experience, could you please think about an Alitalia livery for this plane as well?

You'd make me happy this time around. :D
