Antonov nose opening?

Postby simonmd » Tue Nov 08, 2005 2:11 pm

I've just downloaded Ray Brower's exccelent Antonov 124 and 225 but can't seem to be able to open the nose / cargo door. I've done all the key assignments as stated and can open the rest but the nose won't budge! Any ideas?

Have you tried assigning your controls? Tailhook must be assigned and so must (I think) wing-fold...other than that...water-rudder is Shift+W...The default way to open the main exits is Shift+E followed quickly by 1,2,3, or 4....try those and get back to us  ;)

Yea, on the 225 I believe it is the tailhook keys that opens her up.

Cheers ;)

Hmmmm. You say "Ray Brower's" -124 & -225 ?? Do you mean Thomas Ruth & Alex Kvitta ?

If so -- I've had those two for some time now and BOTH open the nose with SHIFT-E, 2 .....

I have extensively modified the .air & .cfg files for the AN-124. The ones supplied are slightly modified B747 files. Most of the parameters are away off. If you'd like to try it, you can download it here: http://members.shaw.ca/fltsim/AN124Dynam.zip

I am working on the AN-225. As supplied, it's not good either.

You could be right in the authers, I quickly got that name from one of the read-me files. Nope, Shift-E,2 doesn't work. All that happens is that that as soon as Shift-E is pressed, the main side exit door with the ladder opens/closes. It's the same with any of the other numbers. It starts moving before I can quickly press any of them. I've been through every key assignment that isn't already alocated to something and nothing, I'm confussed now! ???

"I've been through every key assignment that isn't already alocated" That sounds like the problem: the keyboard combination must be assigned.

Just open options/controls/assignments and find tailhook: select any key or combination and click O.K.

What I ment to say was that I'd tried every option that didn't already have a key assigned to it to rule it out. The tailhook does work but operates the rear ramp on the 124 or the rear side door on the 225. The water rudder doesn't seem to do anything at all.

I wonder....

Do you have the FS2004 updated versions? AN124-4 and AN225-4 ?

Just a thought.

SORTED! Yes, it is is Shift+E , 2 , but with the engines OFF! Only found out by accident as my last flight in another plane I'd switched them off before loading the Antonov. Hope this thread will be usefull to others in the future.
