Would it be possible?

To assign the printscreen key or a key to take screenshots to your Joystick?

My dad has a new set-up in his office and I'm typing this while seeing the keybord through a glass plate...Needless to say this doesn't improve on ss taking..

To do that, I imagine the sim would need an inbuilt screenshot taker (like f12 in first person shooters), then you could assign a joystick command to that. I don't think that FS9 has an inbuilt SS taker does it?

Cheers ;)

What joystick do you have? I can do it with my Saitek X52.

I tried this in the early days of CFS1 without success. As I recall you can assign commands to the Saitek joystick buttons separately with its own software so this could work. FS has no default screenshot command so it might not be possible with a conventional joystick.

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Perfectly simple to do.  I have mine mapped that way.  But you need the fully registered payware version of FSUIPC to do it.   Mine is part of the basic setup of my simpit.

My CH yoke is connected via usb to the main sim computer.  The sound for the sim comes out of the speakers attached to this computer too.  The sim has FSUIPC installed in it.

My installation of Teamspeak is on the same computer that displays the ND and the backup "steam" gauges on the main panel.  It's sound card goes to the headset and mike......much more realistic.  The computers for the setup are linked via a LAN and WideFS (but this is not necessary to accomplish this).

FSUIPC is set up to send the key command for Teamspeak that I assigned to the PTT button (F12) when the button on the yoke is pushed.  WideFS is set up to send that particular keystroke to the appropriate copmputer (ND one) and give the focus to Teamspeak.  Teamspeak on that computer acts just like the F12 key was being pressed on that machine, and it goes to PTT.

How to do that is documented very well in the FSUIPC and WideFS documents.

best,

You could also try GrabClipSave and see if it has a button.  I just found that program so I'm not sure.
