....life is much too short... :'(...!

Any download greater that 6 MB requires a lot of decision making, using dial-up... ;)...!

Too true

What i've been trying to do over the past few weeks is download some mesh for Alaska, the only problem is that the total file sizes for two files is somewhere around 1.2 gigs. It's been a couple weeks, and i'm only about a quarter of the way done ::)

I had downloaded it before, but somehow the files were corrupted :-/

That's why I do all of my large downloading at my freinds house where they have broadband. I still wouldn't waste 2Gb of Hard drive on one airplane, even if it looks like a good one.

Glad to see I'm not alone....

The paint-jobs are obviously a big part of the problem.   Provide a
couple and add the rest on later if for some obscure reason you need 25.     I can understand people wanting an airliner with their local paint-scheme, or an aero-club design like the one "down the road" but another 24 sitting wasting space.....?

Plenty of people would & have done so already.  Personally I thought it one of the best FS a/c I've ever flown & especially the flight dynamics!! Man - the best!!!

In just over 48 hrs over 1500 downloads.

To those within broadband areas - it's no more than dial up. Cheap & easy & if you don't know that your ear isn't to the ground.  Get you ear to the ground & realise there are 1000's of ISP's out there competing. It takes about 20mins on bb to d/l & I love it & am keeping it as an all time great.

Respect those who release current payware as freeware.  VERY few do!

Respect to Tom Woods & his wonderful creation.

It may be a "niche" download, I dunno. But I'm loving it.

Then again, I'm a fan of obscure WWII planes, and the DO-335 in specific. Previously my only outlet for this plane was CFS3, and enduring it's questionable flight modeling.

My only real complaint is that it didn't include a model for the Do 335A-12, which was a two-seater varient. Ah well.

Yes, it includes a TON of liveries. Including (Joy!) a Crimson Skies livery, which has become my default livery for it.

It's got a very good flight model (As far as I can tell, from reading about the real plane), with it's share of quirks due to it's design. It's got nice damage modeling (Clipped a building buzzing over Chicago, tore a wing off and crashed into the ground. Fun.), and not near as bad a performance hog as you might think. Other than a few stutters switching to external view the first time and such, it performs just fine on my system.

Well i understand at 2gig it better have a good flight model. as far as 25 liveries.. way to much  one or two popular ones  or widely used ones in real life would be good but 25 is to many.   as far as download speed dial-up and cable wont matter unless you are a member  it should be a straight 30 kb/s   unless your dial up is really bad lol ;D and again the plane on topic was used verry little in world war two and really pushed a new area in aircraft design therefore is a "colectors item" i guess you could say.. maby worth a 50 meg download but anything over 120 for something like that... just not worth it in my opinion

Certainly not worth it if you are on dialup, maybe even not worth it on broadband.  I replaced the sounds with the default CFS3 DO335 sounds, they sound better ::)

I love the Do-335, and this model is good, but the paints are unrealistic to 75% or so, the numbers are much to bold. And I can

Thanks for the mixed advice guys, I'll leave it alone....

Despite the comments of our beloved leader, broadband where I live is considerably more expensive than dial-up.     This is because in New Zealand there is a politically motivated monopoly on the phone lines.     The Computer Community in general slates the present situation with comments like "3rd World Standards." and we are aware that our prices are some of the highest in the world.

Without a business to "hang" expenses onto, I cannot justify the extra cost so I can download the odd plane, much as at times I would like to.    :-/ :-/

Interesting that so much freeware is now being released.  At least Bill Lyons mentioned he was putting it "out there" because FS9 was drawing to a close.   :'( :'(
