Start-up entry

Postby Midnight_LS1 » Wed Oct 19, 2005 3:11 am

Everytime I start up FS9,  It keeps defaulting to the settings it was as FS9 was installed and hasn't been used before.

Like this:

Select Aircraft: Default C172

Select Airport: KSEA

Select Weather: Fair Weather

Select Time: comes out to system time

And everytime, the views keeps defaulting onto 'Gradual transtation" and "Roll" which I hate.
I like to keep the Gradual transtation off and in fixed mode permently.

I want to make it like it comes up with my preferred aircraft, weather, home airport.

I've tried and even saved it and checked "Set as default" but it still reverts back to the same default menu everytime I start up FS9 after closing it.

I know it can be done because on my old comp, I had it set in my way and it kept it there.  I don't remember how I did it and that was long before I built this custom comp.

How do I do it?

You can't save the view option unfortunately - it always seems to default to the ruddy loopy-rolly thing.

However, you'll find that if you have saved a new flight as default it doesn't quite work as it should. But next time you start the sim, go to choose saved flight, select your new 'default' flight and click the box 'save as default' again. This time it will save it properly and the next time you start up, all will be well.

Except for the loopy-rolly view option that is...... ::)

I did and it worked!

This is what I did.

Select aircraft, select airport, select weather type.

Click save, check the "set as default box"

locate the plane at the gate, shut down the engines and wait til the N1 and N2 go to zero.  Then go to View, Options, uncheck Gradual Transistion, select 'Fixed' View.  Save it and clicked "save as default"

Then clicked File, then 'End Flight'

and finally click 'Save flight'  and checked 'Set as default'

Restarted FS9 and the info is where I want it and the views are in the way I want.  All I do is start the engines and go flying!  ;)
