Well, I didn't post in the original thread, but mine is 9.14GB :P I had to transfer it onto another drive because I was running out of space on one.  ::)

And if you go into detail, 62, 669 files, 1,912 folders. Does anyone know the original size of FS and the amount of files and folders there are, installed straight off the disk?

Was 5.11, but that hard drive died (The Little Hard Drive that Could), and I STILL haven't gotten around to getting a new one. Long story short, I don't have a lot of room so it is much smaller now. And now for the pinnacle of my pointless post: I don't know how big it is exactly, because I am nowhere near my computer. :P

Aircraft are naturally beautiful because form follows function. -TB

It's easier to keep a copy of the .cfg file...

;)

ahh yeah - keep 2 copies, one is my straight cfg file and the other is the 'no_system_messages' version in case I want to do any Fraps recording

The reason I keep a copy of the FS2004 full install though is I've then always got copies of say the default texture files - if I don't like a water upgrade I can easily go back to the original for example. Same with things like cloud textures. I've also deleted most all the default planes from my live file except the versions I need for AI. And if things go pear shaped because of a dodgy downloaded gauge now I don't have to worry whereas I once had a terrible problem trying to track something down. I've found it pretty handy from time to time.

Mine's a puny 9.55 gB. So far. I keep a backup of everything that I've customised FS with: planes, scenery etc etc (anything that's not on the original CDs) on a removable hard drive.

My Golden Wings folder is 5.85 gigabites.  It has 52,119 files.  All this, and It was only installed August 30. ;D

My regular FS9, which I have only used once since I installed golden wings, has 10.2 gigabites and about 70,000 files
