I think the biggest reason for the wait is that the new windows will be a 32 bit system, but that is only a guess. But it makes sense to me. Like stated in order to improve on FS you would almost have to use a 34 bit operating system to handle the task as a 16 bit system would give undesireable results.
The only thing i am not sure of if you will need a 64 bit cpu in order to run it. Right now Intell does not have a true 64 bit cpu, They do have a dual core cpu that emulates a 64  bit cpu.
And AMD has a 64 bit cpu but I do not know if this will work with the new system. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
You can go to M$.com and check out the new wiondows
(M$.com for new comers is micosoft.com)  8)

sorry, there is no such thing as a 34 bit operating system, it relies on the numbers of nodes (pins) on the processor. XP is in a 32 bit enviroment, and i heard vista is supposed to be 64 bit, although i doubt it.

and vote for AMD! i will when i build my new comp., cause my 2.6g P4 is all right...

and using FS9 on a 16 bit seems unthinkable, although the tin says it can be.

whatever, im still sleeping, lol.
