nging Default Flight Produces No Elevator

Greetings All,

I changed the default flight to my commonly used airfield via the semi-colon key method and ended up with no to very little elevator response.  I had also changed the weather to custom conditions and also the aircraft to some a bit less boring and generic than the default C-172.  

Trim still works as well as other controls.  Changing aircraft and trying other locations did not help.  

Tried it with the engine at idle as well as stopped and that did not help.  So......back to the original settings I went and things are flying fine.

Kind of an irritant but just wondered if anyone else has had this problem.

You said you changed the weather... What air pressure did you set it at? That might have something to do with it.

Never had problems with the trim controls on any aircraft, default or add-on, (providing that Auto-pilot is off at the time).... ...!

...and Cessna 172's are never boring... ...!

Hi Grounded,....don't know what your problem is but must agree with Fozzer........my Avalon rust bucket C172 is never boring....specially interesting when you hear a few more rivets pinging off or the chewing gum draft excluder falls off the windows....commoner

I stand corrected.   C172's are indeed not boring.  I was just trying to communicate comparison.  And if you are flying a 172 in the real world you are flying more than I am.

Come to think of it (after much deep thought) I have concluded that the reason I feel a bit bored deep in my inner being or perhaps slightly disappointed  looking at a 172 is because of that slanted tail.....  efforts by the ad/marketing types to sell more of them by making the aft end look like a jet?  They should have left the vertical straight or rounded it off.   Just my opinion.  

Anyway, back to the subject of my post..... I will try tinkering with pressure/altitude to see what happens with the elevator response.  But since things are back to normal and flying properly I will wait until my courage is replenished and I feel the need to experiment.

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
