Stuttering Issues...

Postby Clipper » Wed Sep 14, 2005 6:12 pm

Hi, me again.. :) This time, I noticed my FS9 started stuttering when i'm in spot view and panning fast. (I use F1View). I have never had this issue in the past, and have not changed any FS9 or vid card settings. I have, however added numerous planes to my "aircraft folder" as well as a lot of Lyons' recently released freeware.Ultimate night environment, Lyonwater, realistic runways, airport environment are a few other add-ons I use. I tried stepping down some of my FS9 graphic settings to a ridiculously low level, but to no avail...same result. I usually max out all settings and run 20-25 fps. I know the variables here are almost infinite, but can anyone think of where I should start in recovering from this issue? P.S. I update and verify my system almost daily, have all the security imaginable, defragg almost every time I start up 9 and shut everything but power before booting FS9. Can anyone think of anything?....I would be most appreciative, as some of you would agree that sim performance can become quite an obsession!...
P.S.S. I'm running P4 2.8....1gig...nvidea fx5200 256k

My system has suffered of stutters for months... until this morning, that is. 8)

This morning, in the pursuit of making LIRN2005 Napulevola flow better, I booted up my PC and before it could load the SO entered in the BIOS and put the AGP aperture size from the 32MB it was, to the actual 128. It was a blind try, but a heaven sent as well. :)

This little option had both the wished effect to speed up the graphic add-on and the very sought-after, but dispaired to be ever solved, effect of zeroing any stutter. I was so surprised from this, I crashed my newly bought PMDG 747 :'( on the Camaldoli hill while trying to take off and failing because too busy gawking. :o

It's almost like I bought a new PC. Try checking said option in your PC and changing it, it might be worth the hassle. ;)

I have had the same problem what do you mean before loading the SO?  you said   "I booted up my PC and before it could load the SO entered in the BIOS"

Thanks,

Sorry, my fault, in italian one writes SO as "Sistema Operativo" while in english is OS as "Operative System". It was a mistype of mine. :(

As how to enter the bios you have to press a key (usually the "del" one) to enter the bios before the loading of the OS (actually you have to do it during the POST stage of the BIOS itself).

It was a bit redundant of me to write all that, maybe, and I didn't even do it right. :-/ Again my apologies for the mistype. :)

Thanks, Ashaman, you explained it very well!
Your English is 100% better than my Italian.
I will give it try it on my computer.
