Adding Scenery

Postby imchief » Sat Sep 10, 2005 9:01 pm

I have been installing aircraft and the like fo rquite some time but have never tried scenery.  I DL the latest version of "Flight Sim Manager" but it seems to have have problems with some of the file structure of the scenery addons.  It installed Princess Juliana fine but when I quit flight sim and restarted at a later time it told me there were file with the same name adn it needed to fix them.  I said alright, but when I looked at the scenery through FSM i ahd duplicate copies of the addon.

My question is what is the quick down and dirty of adding scenery manually?   Help would be appreciated

Here is a tutorial, from the SimV Help section, on adding scenery: http://www.simviation.com/lair/fs2002sc.htm

It written for fs2002 but holds true for fs2004 also.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

If it's a BGL file pop it in the FS9\Addon Scenery\Scenery folder.

Thanks.  Here is the file structure  juliana/juliana/afcad2, scenery, texture.

inside the afcad it was afcad2/AF2_TNCM.BGL

I put the BGL in the location you specified.

One other quetion.  do you think that Flight Sim Manager is a good program to use or would it be better to do everything manually?

I put the BGL in the location you specified.

OK. That should do it. The AFCAD BGL will be automatically activated when you start FS9.
