Spoilers-How to arm???

Postby kevin2003 » Wed Sep 07, 2005 5:48 pm

Dear Fellow Simmers,
First post in a while.Touch wood I've had no probs for a while but there is something I thought forum members might be able to help with.

Would anyone know the  modification required to the Aircraft cfg to enable me to "Arm" my spoilers prior to landing so they deploy automatically on touchdown? At the moment I have to deploy manually on touch down using / or shift+/.

It would be one thing less to think about during that critical aspect of the flight.

warmest regards

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

press SHIFT+/  That arms the spoilers.  Or, open the throttle quadrant and do it yourself

Yeah, shift+/ will only deploy them if your throttles are idled.  It took me years of sweat and tears to figure this out, so HEED MY ADVICE! ;) ;D

I just have them set to a button on my joystick (in change assignments), that does the job of toggling them on & off (fully on or off though, but it work for me) - dead easy to use when landing.

Thanks Guys!

I use the SGA Super 80's (Mad Dog)with the wonderful B757 panel from Mitch. Alas, shift+/ does not arm the spoilers but deploys them, with the SGA Aircraft cfg. I just thought that perhaps this problem has arisen before for some forum member. I am convinced that the key to this is a small change to the cfg file but I am at a loss as to what that change might be.

Thanks again for your replies :)
