FS2004 Parking Brakes

Postby epilot3839 » Fri Aug 26, 2005 6:39 am

I reinstalled Windows XP on my hard drive and then re-installed FS2004 but no matter what I do I cannot seem to be able to release the parking brakes. Ive tried everything from changing the Key/Joystick assignments to uninstalling and re-installing FS2004 but NOTHING WORKS.
All the other things in FS4 works fine.
Can someone suggest a fix?
Thnx

First time the Same FS4 used to work fine before the XP re-install, if I choose any flights the Sim works fine its only the stationery aircrafts in which I cant release the parking brake :'(

Try tapping on the regular brakes, that should release the parking brake. Unless you have tryed that already, in which case, I don't know what to tell ya'.

could be a bad ctrl key? keyboards have two usually, have you tried the other one, the one you don't usually "use" one could be "stuck"

Hiya Neville,

Welcome to SimV!

I am assuming that when you typed FS4 in your posts you made a typo and meant to type FS 2004.

Did you try deleting fs9.cfg? That fixes most of these problems.

another thought ... do the affected aircraft have separate throttle windows? some of them hide parking brake control there and some Fs controls override others, meaning control stick/keyboard may not release the brake if it's set "on" there.

lots of fun, this. OK presume the reinstall of xp wasn't clean. Is there a second (old) fs9 listed in program file (my computer, c drive, program files, microsoft games)
If so delete it. it could be causing problems IE the parking brake is set in it.
that's my third try, so Im "out"
