What part of "I spoke with the FS guys at Oshkosh and they said it would be out next year" didn't you guys understand?  ::)

Well Kevin, you do happen to be a moderator.  Seasoned veterans of the site will have learned to disregard all your posts as "silly" and "irrelevant" by now ;) ;D

I don't think they should release FS10 at all (covers head and ducks for cover). They should just upgrade FS9 ;D ;D ;D

I recon it will come out but I doubt it will be with a lot of new planes like Airbus and Eurocopter.. since its so americanized but I could only hope, that they would encorperate A340. A380 and EC155 AS350 AS365N3 that would be sweet peaches and then they'd upgrade the ATC and add emergency procedures and lessons in those....

I really hope not. I have yet to speak to someone on this and other forums that still uses the half-assed contraptions... I meant, not so excellent default planes. ;D

Let's face it, if FS has lived and prospered up to now is because it can be expanded and bettered by the end user. It's because we who use it can easily find new and better planes, scenery, sounds, and so on than the whatever M$ gives us.

The only default plane that is nice enough not to be forgotten is the DC3, and even then it needs a reworking of the flight dynamycs. Reworking that the never thanked enough people at the DC3 Hangar have done for free (bless their souls) and that should have been done by M$.

Had FS been unexpandable and its users (we all) able to fly only the default planes, unable to add better meshes and/or landclass, or sounds, or new AI planes, or... FS would have died by now, and maybe we would be discussing X-plane here. ;)

I really, Really, REALLY, REALLY hope at M$ aren't losing their time with planes that will be forgotten in three months time TOP, and are seriously working on bettering other more important part of the simulator. More important parts that you put at the end of your post almost like an afterthought but that are in my opinion what would really make the next version of this simulator worth the money spent to buy it.

And anyway... we're fighting the windmills here... hoping that people at M$ would get down their damn pedestal and hear people like us is a exercise in futility... almost assuredly the next simulator will have better graphics, with the DirectX 9 used fully, maybe a better programming to allow those who don't have a supercomputer to fly without cursing their soul to hell (but I would not bet a counterfeited cent about this), and only with marginal betterments were it needs the most, as it's being successfully done already in the past. :(

My spec for FS9 is: Athlon 2400, 1GBram, Fx5700.

So as you can deduce I have a better videocard with a slower CPU than you, and I have twice your memory. Now, on my PC I rarely have serious slowings and almost all of them on add-on sceneries that are heavy even for more powerful CPU's.

As I see it for a good FS9 experience you should expand the memory, no more no less. Once done that you could have your FS9 slow down perhaps only when showing heavy clouds (they're the bane of lesser videocards under FS9), and should you find this annoying (I did) you can always download from the net lighter or compressed clouds' textures.

On this last note I must say I have ASV, its clouds (even only the 256x256 that come with the program, without installing the 512x512) are spectacular (you have to see them to understand how... more... they are) and lighter than any other older solution I found. One of the best payware I ever bought.

Beside the clouds, that will probably need a tweak or seventeen, you should go fine.

For once I am going to really hit out at FS9. It amazes me how the crazy team at MS concentrated so much on old flyers, when there are so many modern aircraft that they could have done as has been stated.
What about Airbus? What about a good fighter jet? None! They really need to get their act together and produce something better at MS and I hope it will be FS10 and not a FS8.2 as the current FS9 is... ;)

I would like to see a 64 Bit version that would take advantage of the dual core chips. Another added plus would be the capability of taking advantage of the newer graphics cards (7800GTX) features.

I would even be willing to pay a little extra if these features were offered on a seperate upgrade disk.

Microsoft would probably make a 64 bit version of the sim, however they will most likely stick with the older version being widely used by many people who just can't afford a 64 bit computer. If M$ make a 64-bit-only version of FS and not for the older types, then revenues will fall faster than a brick. Bill Gates knows this too well and would most likely wait until sufficient users have the 64 bit power in preparation for FSXI [eleven].

I did not want to see a 64 bit stand alone version, but I would pay for the 64 bit upgrade if it was sold seperately.
