Postby osvep » Wed Aug 17, 2005 4:54 am

may anyone inform wich is the default elevation or terrain resolution of fs2002 and fs9? There are sceneries
with 70 m to download in this site .By the way I guess in
the near future we will fly using tools as google earth and google maps... Thanks a lot. :)

For fs9 I think the default Flight Simulator scenery can be as inaccurate as 1.5 km outside the U.S. I think its slightly more accurate for America with it being about a 1km mesh altough some places are more accurate than others.

Not sure what the default mesh is, guessing 300m or more.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Thanks dave and ws.I will try to install the 70 m resolution.I notice Nasa is delivering huge dem with his World wind project... Perhaps the next frontier for FS
may be orthomaps, aerialphotosand all this stuff. It is a
great challenge for scenery designers.I see virtual flights
as one of the main tools of VIRTUAL TOURISM ! Real things are becoming exeptional... ::)
