Just fisished a short commuter flight from KSOF to KLAX. Just after being picked up by the LA center; I heard this little exchange:
"LA Center, Curtis Jenny N***** with you at 800 - IFR to (wherever)."
"Curtiss Jenny N*****, LA Center, Roger etc."
"Curtiss N****, climb and maintain 18 thousand."
...(long pause)...
"Curtiss N****, please expedite climb to 18 thousand."
...(long pause)...
"Curtiss N****, please expedite climb to 18 thousand."
...(long pause)...
"Curtiss N****, please expedite climb to 18 thousand."
...(long pause)...
"Curtiss N****, please expedite climb to 18 thousand."
...(long pause)...
"Curtiss N****, please expedite climb to 18 thousand."
...(long pause)...
"Curtiss N****, please expedite climb to 18 thousand."
...(long pause)...
...for about 20 minutes.
I couldn't help but wonder which would be funnier - the ATC giving such a silly direction or if the Jenny actually made it to 18K!
Lol - not much; but I got a giggle out of it.
