landing the 767 200

Postby andrewgeorge60 » Wed Aug 10, 2005 5:39 am

Hi all - I recently downloaded a 767 aircraft off project opensky's website, its great!!!.

It uses the default 777 panel that is with flight simulator.

In the 737 when landing, to use the glideslope and localizer, you simply tune nav 1 to the ils frequency and hit approach, then it usualy intercepts and flys me in, but with this aircraft, im not too sure of the combination of buttons that need to be set in the autopilot.

The radios are tuned fine, because i get the morse beeps, course is set correctly, but the aircraft just flies off course.  This is with the app button, altitude and aut. throttles set.

Any help is appreciated, thanks you guys!!!

Do yourself a present and download a real panel from the 'net.

The 777's panel is probably one of the worst ever made. :-X If you don't want to bother with the download of a better panel let me at least suggest you to alias the 762 to the panel of the default 737. That panel, though no winner in no category ever, is much better than the 777's. :-/

On this same site, http://www.simviation.com/menu.html downloads, FS2004, panels. Search around, it's free and registration is not required.

You can try AVsim too, shame you have to register. Same thing (and registration too) on Flightsim.com... but I'm almost sure you know already. ;)

Watch around, you'll find panels for every tastes. Almost all of them a whole lot better than the default ones, and for those we paid, too. :(

The main problem with addon panels is that, more often than not, even when they claim to be "VC friendly", they mess up the gauges in the VC, so I'm forced to use the default 777 panel for my 757-although soon enough I'll be getting the level-d 763 anyway ;D

Simple enough. I did it once way back when I still used the default 777, and it worked. Open the panel.cfg of the default 777, copy everything under label [vcpanel], together with the label of course, and paste it on the new panel's .cfg file.

Voil

The main problem with the POSKY 752 is that it's VC uses both 737 and 777 guages-royally screwing things up ::) :P

Ah.

Sorry then, I know very little about 757, honest. It's a plane I frankly... don't like.

And anyway I thought we were talking about transplanting a good panel on the default triple seven without losing the VC gauges... was I missing something again? ???

come on man, have you not seen that amazing nose on that bird, it has to be one of the best looking aircraft.

Also did you set the CRS?

I can't say why. It's a matter of... I don't know... sensations perhaps? Feelings? The 757 I was never able to like.

Oh, it's a good plane, this I give you. It has to be, or would have been scrapped a lot of time ago. But in the end the 757 anf the F104 are the only two planes (one civil transport, the other military fighter) that I never was able to stomach. And if I MUST say why... I can't. Even if my life was on the line I'd find myself in a quandary. ???

Nope, I was just saying why the usual procedures of getting gauges to show up in the VC doesn't work for the aircraft that I'm currently flying ;)

Either I'm getting old or I'm following too many threads at once. ???

Very possibly is a mixture of both. :(

Alright, I'm off this thread, I've wrecked amok for long enough. Time to go on vacation. Tomorrow I'm going to the beach and stay there for 2 weeks as punishment. ;D

Bye, bye. ;)
