DC-3 tail wheel lock

Postby alb469 » Fri Aug 05, 2005 4:25 pm

Can someone tell me when it is locked or unlocked. On the throttle quadrant it says "pull" but the lever goes up and down. Which setting is which. ??? :-[

Best advice . . . turn ON cockpit tooltips to learn about everything that is operational in the cockpit.  When you place your mouse cursor over the tailwheel knob it will read ON or OFF  :)

alb, youre looking DOWN at the throttle quadrant.  It's not mounted on the dash :)  So 'pulling' it would mean that it is in the down position... it should be locked when it is in the down position. ;)

Thanks for the info..Its hard enough to taxi the DC3 with the lock off never mind with it on. Will try the suggestions and see what happens. :)
