Can you be a little more specific - like, do you want to know how to change the target frame rate figure, or do you want to know how to improve your overall frame rates?

Ever sence I reinstalled I'v had problems with my graphics card. So I thought I would my rates up  5 to 25. I get great frame rates but with my custom aircraft the scenery looks all jumpy.(Studering like bad frame rates would do.) This never happened before the computer doc. cleaned out my hard drive and reinstalled XP. He was trying to sell me on a better graphics card, Something that would be good for me but like I said I never had these problems before he worked on it. I did download and try to install Direct X 9 but it shows up as Direct X 8. Maybe its something I'm doing wrong. Thanks for the reply to a forgetfull old man. Wildie. Ps. I did remember about 10 min. after I posted. It must be the Chemo.

Why does reformatting C: and reinstalling XP always mess up FS?  Are there any articles on this?

Hovercontrol has a good guide on setting up your display, it is optimized for helo flights, but it provides a good over-view and definition of what tweak has what effect.

Personally, i found that trial and error works best. I just had the same instance, re-installed and Frame rates weren't the best...in my case, it was because I forgot to reset my settings in the BIOS and my AGP aprature was set all the way down to 64MB instead of at 256MB.

Check and make sure you have the current drivers for you video card, dx9, and after that, just play around with it...
