Download the MSFS Aircraft Container SDK:
http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimulator/fs2004_downloads_sdk.asp#aircraftcontainer

It explains the sections and elements of the aircraft.cfg file, and much more.

Go here for a turbo-charged 182RG, ready to go:

Might be what your looking for.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

This where fun clashes with realism. If all you want is speed..  just increase the prop thrust factor from 1.000 to something bigger.

1.100 is a pretty significant increase,, but heck.. why not 1.900  ?  Make a 172 Cruise at 250kias  ::)

Why not increase the engine power too.. You can make a 172 borderline super-sonic.. While you're at it.. reduce the fuel-flow scalar and you can take the 172 across the Atlantic in a few hours on 50 gallons of fuel    :o

ACK !
