Must Have Add-ons?

Hi all,

Just looking for some advice really regarding the many and varied add-ons that are available for FS9. I have been looking at the VFR series of add-ons in particular but also things like Airline Pilot, FS Scene, Flying Club and the various Airports packages.

Do many of you here use any of those and would they be good additions to the flight sim experience.

When adding something like one of the British Airport pacakges does that overwrite the airport scenery that I already have installed or does it appear as an additional option for me to use or not.

Sorry if this is a bit of a no-brainer question but I am struggling to get my head around how these things actually work.
