Spot view, can't change back!

Postby Midnight_LS1 » Fri Jul 22, 2005 10:16 pm

I was flying FS2004 last week and I got pissed at the keyboard, I slammed on it (all because I was trying to put a X in the GPS for airport KDXR) and found out the X button was broken.

At the same time the aircraft was in a spot view and the plane would move around it's axis without the background moving around the plane.
Like if you have the spot view aimed to the north, and you turn the aircraft flight direction from north (tail view) to south, the nose of the plane comes facing towards the spot view.

But right after I slammed it, the spot view camera became locked into the aicraft location and the background view moves around it.  Just like there's a pole attached to the aircraft with a camera hanging from it.

I tried to mess around to get it back to where it was before, I can't figure it out despite going thru the key assignments and going thru the keyboard chart under view commands.

How do I revert to the view it was before?

1 - select Spot view
2 - in top menu, click "Views". A drop down menu will appear
3 - Click on "View Options"
4 - on the lower right side you see three small windows - the bottom most is labelled "Type"
5 - Click the arrow - three choices appear. Click "Fixed".
6 - Click OK and you should have what you want.
(if you don't like the "rubbery" movement when angle changes, go back to that window and uncheck "Gradual Transition"

It's a cheap $10 keyboard about a few years old, the x button was already broken.
