Where are the most scenic places to fly?

Postby edzmen » Thu Jul 21, 2005 7:19 am

Just wondered everyone's views on the most scenic areas to fly from in FS9?

Obviously it needs to be using the default ground terrain and textures unless there is a quality freeware terrain mesh out there...

Lemme know your views! ;)  :)

Assuming you have downloaded the textures. in my estimation, you can't beat the British Columbia Rockies.

Terrain mesh: right here at SimV downloads, Global Terrain Mesh. Free. You'll see a few glitches but overall a great improvement to the default mesh.

Have to agree with logjam, BC and SE Alaska. Look for the latest mesh and scenery by Holger Sandmann. His Columbia River Gorge project is great.

Alaska looks great.  Greenland is also a view too, and if you fly at night, you may get a glimpse of the northern lights!!
Cheers,

If you get the Columbian River Gorge scenery here at SimV, that is a very scenic flight no matter if your in a bush, helo, or even a mil jet doing some high speed passes through the hills.

Another nice intersting one that can bring about some beautiful screens, is the Stamar Base pack.

Guess it depends on what kinda scenery you're in to.  I enjoy Hong Kong, Hawaii, the Bahamas....  Coastal and island regions, where the water is a beautiful shade of blue-green.

Some of the mountain areas are nice, too, but I prefer the tropics!

edzmen,

I have tio recommend to you that you simply HAVE to spend the time to install some freeware or payware terrain mesh into the sim.
