Reccomend me one of these...

Postby Dan » Mon Jul 11, 2005 12:51 pm

Hey all! I'm going to start a bit of a dabble into fixed wing again after my exit onto rotary...

So can you recommend me, on the basis of realistic flight handling, great sounds (which I'm happy to d/l separately) and a very good looking functional VC a:

P51 OR P47

Yak 52

If the P51 had a chequer cowl it would be nice, so separate textures are welcome!

Thanks all!

Freeware or Payware?  If it's Freeware, search out Roger Dials Mustangs here at SimV.  If it's Payware you want, then the Wings of Power P-51 has got a flight model like no other, although the CWDT Mustang looks slightly better.

There is a strange shortage of Jugs out there, although you can find a few around...

For Spitfires, look up Paul Rebuffat's birds for freeware, and for payware there is nothing like the Real Air Spitfire.  It is simply beyond comparison.

Fora nice Freeware Corsair, find the Alpha Bluee Ciel bird here, for Payware, Aeroplane Heaven has just released a nice package...

Anything else?  :)

For the Thunderbolt go to sim-outhouse..
For the Mustang Shigeru Tanaka's is also nice!
Indeed the ALpha ciel Bleu Corsair
Maybe the AH Seafire? One of the best freewares out there..

You could also try the YAS Spitfires over at avsim, they are for CFS2 but look nice in FS9 as well ;)

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

Ok - Souch -  :o WOW that P51 is awesome. I've got the Cute Nude P51D Package from Shigeru.

Its got model and sound to die for, but tbh I found the VC a little dissapointing to go with that! Is there an update?

Mark - I have flown the Paul Rebuffat Spits - Very nice!
