Taxiing on dirt

When taxiing over dirt the nose wheel on some of my planes  collapses and the plane crashes.

Does anyone know which entry in the aircraft.cfg file should be altered to make the gear stronger?

Not sure, but you might also look into how fast you're moving, and in general, when taxiing on dirt, it helps to pull back a little (in aircraft with a nosewheel). Also, some planes were just not meant for taxiing in dirt. What airplane are you having trouble with, and are you taxiing on a dirt runway, or off the runway, may I ask?
Just eems odd that the model's landing gear would be too weak- unless you're trying to go off-roading in an airliner or something. ;D

Rather than give the gear some unrealistically high, damage threshold.. I agree with Rotty. If it's a prop-plane.. back pressure on the yoke'll keep weight off the nose wheel (just like real-world, soft-field taxiing).

Probably won't help much with a jet, but I don't think many Lears or 737s are landing on grass strips or taxiing in the dirt.   ;)

FAR25 airplanes aren't really supposed to be rolling around on FAR23 airstrips!   ;D  What plane were you using?

not too sure what it does for grass taxiing :P...but......................
talking of taxiing..ever thought about runway friction..you know the way some aircraft just don't go where their supposed to go...fs set the friction to 0.5 this little tweak puts it at 0.25 for a more realistic feel when taxiing..a real milestone in realism..
the file change is the (sim1.dll) in the modules folder before you proceed be sure to copy the original to a folder somewhere then back to the modules folder and delete it and add the new file otherwise your sim will probably crash ;)
seems to work for those runaway planes as well...top tweak :D

It happens to several planes but the main one I am concerned about is the CJ1 (Eaglesoft). I know its probably not meant to land on dirt but I want to anyway.

...or you could try setting the "crash tolerance" slider down in  the relism screen
having it at max makes your planes break as if they were made of glass ::)
