Troublesome Panels

Postby romaruk » Mon Jun 27, 2005 8:02 am

I have tried to install a fantastic panel with great upper and lower decks etc.  I installed everything as usual and all went fine.  I was told to install FSsound.dll.  Then to go to my FS9 config file and add 2 lines [OldModules] FSSound.dll=1 after rebooting, FS2004 loaded OK but when I tried to test the new panel, It said there was no reference to sound.

Any ideas??????????

Did you install or do you have the FSsound.dll file in your Modules folder? Did you make the edit in the FS9.cfg file?

Some acft. require you to install panels in a particular way. Are you sure you installed the panel correctly?

Then too, some downloads, and possibly your panel download, is missing a sound file or files.

Link to the panel would help as we or I could download it and check it out.

The files were downloaded from AVSIM.  The zip files start "cjh_747_pnl_01.zip" There are 3 others.  I installed the FSsound.dll file etc and made the correct changes in the FS9 config.

I would appreciate it if you could look at this for me.  I didn't get all the errors, only the sound.  There was no sound!!!!!!!!!!!

I installed it and worked fine for me. Different kind of panel/acft. install though.

In the Acft. folder are two folders.

1] b747_400   AND
2] fsfsconv

You might have a fsfsconv folder already in your FS Acft. folder. IF you do, then take the CJHpanel folder from the fsfsconv folder of the download and put it into the FS9/Acft./fsfsconv folder.

If you do not have an fsfsconv folder in your FS9/Acft. folder, then place the whole fsfsconv folder from the download into your FS9/Acft. folder.

Now, in the b747_400 folder mentioned above, is a panel.cfg. This needs to be placed in your FS9/Acft/b747_400/panel folder. Back up your default panel.cfg in there before replacing it.

If everything else was installed correctly, then the panel should work fine.

Good luck.

Can't thank you enough.  I will hopefully get it going myself.
