Some problems with an Alpha Jet

Postby Ecko » Thu Jun 23, 2005 6:18 am

Hey everybody!

Yesterday I saw this 'Freeware Screenshots'-post called 'Belgian Air Force Training' so I checked it out (great shots by the way).
It was pictures of a Belgian Alpha Jet, and I fell in love with the plane ;D, so I downloaded it, and it is great, BUT...

I have two problems with the Jet.

First of all, I can use the rudder in the plane, but it doesnt turn the front wheel at all, wich makes it impossible to taxi!!! ???

Second of all, (this is a minor problem) theres no IAS or Mach indicator, so I dont know how fast I'm flying. But in a lot of pictures i have seen this RED text in the right top corner, wich shows airspeed, altitude, fuel and so on..

So can anyone help me? If not with both, then maybe just one of the problems?

Here is a link to the Jet

Ther text at the top can be brought up by hitting Shift Z

As for the taxi problem, Im not sure unless its a tail dragger then check your control key assignments and see if you have tail wheel lock set to something. If it isnt a tail dragger Im not sure.

Good luck,

Stephen

The problem is the jet's nosewheel steering is set to 180 in the CFG file.
Open the CFG and look for the contact points - this bit:

point.0=1, 12.15, 0.000,-5.50, 2600,

No probs. :)
If you like the Alpha Jet; may I also suggest the Snowbirds' CT-114 Tutor package as well. A great model, extremely accurate panel and VC and sweet flight characteristics. Choice of left or right seat operation and some cool sound effects from the Snowbirds' performance. :) I guarantee you'll love it. :)

No - freeware; available right here on SimV. Just search for 'Snowbirds'. :)

EDIT:

Right here.
