Frozen water: possible?

Postby JRoc » Mon Jun 06, 2005 10:58 pm

I was thinking about this the other day: would it be at all possible to make lakes, rivers and such freeze over in winter in FS?

I'm thinking no... but that would definitely be a cool thing to have, especially if there was also randomly placed thinner ice.  It'd be great for bush flying.  Maybe in the next installment of FS.

Someone did release a package for frozen rivers about a year ago, I can't remember if it is for FS9 or 2k2. Try looking over at avsim (I am pretty sure that is where I saw it) ;)

Haven't tried it, but it was part of Holger Sandman's Misty Fjords I think

Finnice10.zip-http://www.fsnordic.net/

Creates landable ice in Finland only (ice textures display world wide, depending on waterclass). Due to limitations of FS, not a seasonal change, requires file swapping, done with included batch files. (Believe Misty Fjords does it in a similar manner)

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.
