Try going into the control assignments page in FS, make sure you've selected the "keyboard" page, and see what's assigned under "open door" or whatever that heading is. If it looks OK, try re-assigning it... that might work.

The proper sequence is Shift+e, then release the shift+e and press 2.

Not all a/c have a second opening door.

In selecting 'E' for the exits, you stole the default assignment for 'Engine select' (which you should have recieved a warning for), which means that if you want to select a single engine, or have to re-select all engines on a multi-engine a/c your outta luck at the moment.

Now that does explain a lot!! - I can't remember seeing a warning for it though. It was all done in a bit of a hurry when i re-installed FS9.

Cheers for the help. I'm quite glad that I bothered to crop & post that screenie now. I shall repent my sins & revert forthwith.

Thanks Dave,

TSC.

TSC

'Warning' might have been an overstatement on my part   :-[

No flashing red lights or sirens.

Just the text in the confirmation window changes from something like...' The event assignment is available....' to 'The event assignment is already in use by......'.
