Concorde Learning Experience

Postby Papa9571 » Sat May 21, 2005 7:21 pm

I have the Concorde for FS2002 and have flown it quite a lot.

The maximum range for this paticular aircraft is 3,371 nm.

I have regularly flown the aircraft further than that and, in most cases, still had close to 10,000 lbs of fuel available.

I got curious and decided to try and fly around the world, against the jet stream, and see how many stops it would take.

First leg was KFJK, Kennedy International, to PHNL, Honolulu International a distance of 4,320 nm.

Second leg was PHNL to VHHH, Hong Kong International a distance of 4,828 nm.

Third leg was VHHH to UUEE, Sheremetyevo in Moscow Russia, a distance of 3,851 nm.

The final leg was UUEE to KJFK, a distance of 4,037 nm.

In all cases each leg was in excess of the published aircraft performance parameters and I only had to use afterburners to takeoff and not to get through Mach 1.  All settings are for realstic and I do not have unlimited fuel. I also used actual weather and flew at 52,000 ft.

Doesn't this sound like a problem in the aircraft.cfg file or am I doing something wrong? If there is a problem in the aircraft.cfg file, what do I need to do to correct it?

I downloaded the aircraft from here, FS2002 page 37.

It is supposedly and updated version of the FS2000 concorde and that may be part of the problem. If that is the case then how do I fix it?
