Trident Stall Problem

The latest Trident versions seem to have a stall problem. On t/o with approx 10 deg trim it lifts at 130K IAS then a stall warning comes on but it continues to fly ok. On descent it will stall out at 180K IAS clean or 160K IAS with 23 deg flap,gear down..That seems high to me. Has anyone have a ref list for the Trident giving speeds? Or has anyone else had this problem?

10 degs trim seems a little too much... the normal would be closer to 2 degrees or so... also 130Kias on takeoff also seems a tad on the slow side... i

Yep, I think your very overloaded. Click on the speed chart shown here and see what it tells you. If your speeds are that high, your way overloaded!




Notice here the numbers are all in the 140s except vr.

If you tell about David Maltby's Tridents, stalling at 160 kts is indeed too much

But as pointed by Moach and alb469, take care, the max landing weight is always lower than the max ltake off weight:

Here are the values you can find in the extensive documentation provided with this fabulous plane

Trident 2
144 000 lb Take off
113 000 lb Landing

Trident 3
155 000 lb Take off
120 000 lb Landing

On my last flught here where the values
Take off rotation between 140 and 150
The approach is between 150 and 160
the touch down between 130 and 140

NB: As I find hard to read the speed on the panel I use the Shift Z to check my speed when critical

lol, when i was a noob i cept wondering why the landing gear on the 777 kept breaking

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. The T/O stall has been solved by waiting for the correct speeds and then lifting off. Practicing midair stalls and landing with gear down 23 deg flap no stalls were evident down to 120k IAS. However  both models were below max wt with full fuel load without any changes on my part,I did reduce the payload to zero for the stall practice. Nowif we can just figure out how to get the autopilot to work correctly all should be OK.

the autopilot is indeed a bit complicated in this aircraft

there is a manual for it in the kneeboard (f10)
