logging flight time

Postby wealthysoup » Wed May 18, 2005 3:49 pm

my flight time log seems to have been deleted because everytime i try to log flight time i get the error message:

you have choson to log flight time but the logbook file A^(<-accent above the a) does not exist. You will not be able to log flight time until you recreate the flight time logging file or select a new flight time logging file in the logbook dialogue.

Does anybody know how to recreate the flight time logging file and if so can you please tell me how to do it.

Thanks

Is it the one that came with the sim, or do you belong to a VA and you need a special one for it?

I have had this same problem, and found a cure to this problem, well at least for me.

First I went into the FS9.CFG file and looked for "whatever it says that it can't find" IE LOG_FILE=A^, and change that name back to the default "LOG_FILE=LOGBOOK", or whatever you named your log file.

Wala. Work for me!!!

Good luck

Or if you are really serious about logging flight time for $10-$15 you can pick up a standard pilot logbook at most airports or online. That's how I log my flight time  for BFU.

I've got the standard flight time logger in flight sim. I just checked that Marlin and it says LOG_FILE=LOGBOOK then under my documents/ flight simulator files i found the file called logbook but if i try to change anything in it and save it an error messsage comes up saying:
Cannot create the C:\documents and settings\ryan\my documents\flight simulatorfiles\LOGBOOK.LOG file.
Make sure the path and filename are correct.

I quit using FS9's logbook over a year ago (I've used Fs9 since the day it came out). After having to delete and restore my fs9.cfg over twenty times, I concluded when FS9 gave this error it also toasted the fs9.cfg file.

Since I stopped using FS9's logbook I've not had to restore my fs9.cfg once and have not experienced any of the C2D (crash to desktop) problems encountered while using it.
