Two big problems

Postby beefhole » Thu May 19, 2005 2:35 pm

Let's start with the most pressing.  When I start FS, the splash screen comes up, and then the screen goes dark and a monitor message comes up that says

NONE SUPPORT

(band of colors)

H: 47kHz  V:75Hz

Now, this has only happened when I accidentally set my resolution higher than 1024x760x32-so I deleted my fs9.cfg (this action is the root of my second problem) and booted again.  Same problem.  Next, I went into fs9.cfg and manually changed the resolution to 800x600x32.  Same result. Changing the last part to x16 didn't do anything either.

My other problem, which cropped up weeks ago, happened after I carelessly deleted fs9.cfg.  This acquainted me with a problem I had when I first got the game (I had the same specs then)-it looked like crap.  It just looks-ugly.  Really ugly.  I played with the visual settings for a while and eventually I did something exactly right and, all of a sudden, it looked fine.  But when I deleted the .cfg, all that was lost.  I have a GeForce FX5200.  I'll post a screenie if I can get the game to boot ::)

Any ideas?

edit: I have an LCD by the way.

Values indicate a LCD screen
just remember to use the manufacturer INI file for installation. that will set the max limits for HRefresh and VRefresh

I haven't changed any of the values recently, and everything has been working just right peachy since I bought the game two years ago.  But I'll make sure it's not the monitor and fiddle around with the settings.  I'll try a reboot too.
