3Wire and Aircraft Carriers

Postby Ecko » Fri May 13, 2005 4:05 pm

Hey guys!

I just downloaded 3Wire and the ArrCab aircraft carrier, and it's a lot of fun! ;D ;) BUT, I can't really find any good planes with a tail hook.

So if you guys would just put a link to your favorite planes, with a WORKING tail hook, I would be very thankful! :)

Both Jets and Vintage props are accepted. ;)

Tail hook? Who needs a tail hook?

OK really, there are plenty of good ones out there. One I really like is the EA-6B found here http://www.simviation.com/fs2002military18.htm

Actually the EA-6B and A-6E work quite well in FS2004...I use them all
the time on the 20 or 30 carriers that I have positioned
around the world.

There are also tons of F-14's and F/A-18's available in the
file library here and at Avsim. Just do a bit of searching.

Looking at my 700+ aircraft in my inventory, I also see a
E2-C, several F4U's , F-4 Phantoms and a C-2A. Many of these
are FS2004 planes but as I said above, even the FS2002
aircraft look and work fine in FS2004 for the most part.

Sorry, I didn't think about this because I've never owned 2002, just 2004 (of the recent versions). The EA-6B there works with 2004 without any problems or need for conversion. Many aircraft done with FSDS for the 2002-Pro version work equally well in 2004. Anything done with FSDS version 2 works in 2004.

By the way, for 3wire you don't have to have a tailhook.. ;)

The one I did above was with Flight Deck III, not 3wire, but I thought 3wire also had an option to require tail hook or not.

Found this in another thread:

Do a search of the Avsim.com library. it's in the 2004 utilities section.

Have you read the isntructions that should've come with the download?

FS should be running, then hit connect...then go find a carrier..;)
