How can I wake up the ATC controllers ?

Postby Pegase » Thu May 12, 2005 4:58 am

And the pilots waiting to take off in front...

In some occasion, mainly when ther is already on or two AI airplanes waiting to take off,  everybody (except me) seems to fall deeply asleep :

A first plane will eventually take off but after the situation seems froozen, nothing in approach, nobody talking, nothing moving:

no way to move things on via ATC, the only option are contact ground, contact tower, tune on ATIS.

When this occure, the only solution I found was to "pass thru" and take off "like this". Sometimes a get a remark "You took off without authorization" (At leas I wake them up ;D) but they take it well... short after taking off, a new frequency is assigned and the flight can keep on.

However, I would like to know if anyone can suggest a more gentle solution. ???

I face the same issue. At times i have 2-3 AI planes stuck on the taxiway or sometimes just before take off.

In such cases what i do is increase the simulation rate to 8x or 16x (or more if i'm frustrated  >:() and wiithin few seconds the AI planes disappear. Once they are out of sight, i taxi to the runway and ask ATC for clearence.

Well...... may not be a lot of help to you, but i think its a more gentle solution than passing through AI planes like a ghost  ;)

If the airport and runway were given others here could check it out.

AI planes not taking off IFR is usually caused by a missing or misplaced Holdshort node. Yes, not all AF2 files are created equal.
